Fair Use Policy
This Fair Use Policy defines acceptable API usage to prevent abuse, maintain system integrity, and ensure a seamless experience for all customers.
Last updated: 20 January 2025
At HandyAPI, we are committed to providing a high-quality, reliable, and fair service for all users. This Fair Use Policy ("Policy") defines acceptable API usage to prevent abuse, maintain system integrity, and ensure a seamless experience for all customers.
By using HandyAPI, you agree to comply with this Policy. Violations may result in rate-limiting, account suspension, or termination at HandyAPI’s sole discretion.
1. Fair API Usage & Rate Limits
If your service usage exceeds the limits of your plan repeatedly, we will contact you about upgrading your subscription plan. We may also provide a custom plan if your specific scenario does not fit our standard pricing model.
To ensure equitable access for all users, we enforce a fair use policy on API requests.
- Each plan has a defined API request quota and reasonable surge protection per billing cycle.
- Excessive, abusive or non-genuine requests beyond plan limits will trigger rate-limiting.
- HandyAPI reserves the right to throttle, suspend, or terminate accounts generating excessive, non-legitimate, non-genuine API traffic or violating any fair policy provisions.
- Advanced pattern detection and machine learning are used to identify, report, and block abuse.
Prohibited Behaviors:
- Automated scraping or enumeration (e.g., systematically iterating through inputs).
- Bulk queries or mass data extraction for storage, resale, or redistribution.
- Any attempt or mechanism, including proxies, multiple accounts or other means to bypass rate limits, IP or other restrictions.
- Continuous high-frequency non-genuine requests that degrade system performance.
If you require higher limits, contact us for a custom plan.
2. Permitted Use
HandyAPI is solely intended for use in legitimate, genuine, end-user applications within your organization.
Allowed Uses:
- Enhancing your own B2C or B2B business or other operations.
- Performing real-time lookups within your internal or customer-facing applications.

- Processing genuine user input or stored real card numbers.
Prohibited Uses:
- Reselling, redistributing, or offering HandyAPI’s data to third parties.
- Using the API to compete with HandyAPI or build similar services.
- Branding any service solely based on HandyAPI data as your own.
- Reverse-engineering, mining, or analyzing response patterns for bulk data extraction.
- Caching, storing or archiving our API response or data in a manner that can be used later.
- Using the API for any activity that violates privacy, security, or applicable laws.
If you need commercial licensing or have a special use case, contact our team.
3. Account & Access Restrictions
- Each API key is linked to a single account. Sharing, reselling, redistributing or transferring access is strictly prohibited.
- Automated bots and scripts that exceed human-equivalent usage will be flagged.
- Only authorized team members within your organization should access HandyAPI.
- HandyAPI reserves the right to audit logs and take appropriate action, including legal enforcement, for suspicious activities or misuse.
4. Security & System Integrity
To ensure the security and stability of HandyAPI, users must:
- Keep API keys secure—do not share or expose them.
- Respect rate limits to avoid service disruptions.
- Report security vulnerabilities or abuse immediately.
Any attempt to bypass security measures, probe system weaknesses, or exploit the API will result in permanent account termination.
5. Data Ownership & Compliance
- All API data remains the exclusive property of HandyAPI.
- Users must not store, cache, or archive API responses indefinitely.
- Retrieved data must be used only for its original, intended purpose and handled in compliance with this policy and laws.
- API responses should be used only in real time, as needed and may not be stored for building persistent or bulk storage.
6. Enforcement & Violations
HandyAPI reserves the right to take action against users who violate this Policy, including but not limited to:
- Temporarily limiting API access (rate-limiting).
- Suspending or terminating accounts for repeated abuse.
- Charging additional fees for unauthorized usage, misuse-related costs, competitive harm or damages incurred.
- Legal action if misuse results in data breaches, fraud, or competitive harm.
If you believe your API usage was wrongfully restricted, contact our support team to resolve the issue.
7. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Continued use of HandyAPI after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
